£8,801 and climbing - but the reserve is still not met. The seller wouldn't give a straight answer as to whether a deposit had been taken or not, but instead wanted to talk on the telephone. I'm pretty sure this is just scam to generate interest. It looks (to me) that the seller has manipulated the price above a point where it is credible via some shill bidding, and so doesn't really have anywhere to go. I suppose there is an outside chance someone with 10 grand they want to spend on a £5,000 motor car might show up, but otherwise I suspect we will see the motor car again in 2 weeks time.

:-(

I'm not so sure that this is a scam. It's a late model GLT, low owner, low mileage in a lovely colour combination. It's not A1, but I think it's worth good money. These were selling three / four years ago for £10/£11k, but the market has dipped a bit since then. This could be two people who really want the car bidding it up. It seems that half of eBay car sales seem to fall through after the auction has completed, so we will see.

Regards
Lucien

I think you slightly misunderstood me Lucien: I think the scam is pretending there is already a deposit taken (in which case the car would be sold). I do rather suspect there is some shill bidding going on as well.

I think we will see this motor car again.

Yes - that is a bit cheeky I think.

It's not bad , Alan . Minimal corrosion, sorted some. Bulb behind heater control and odometer, nowt much else evident yet.
I even like the Tors alloys, for saying it's a GL.

... if all you have to worry about is the bulb behind the heater then that motor car is fine Andrew. Well done!

Workshop manual in the post! Can't see me doing the odometer with my ham fists somehow. Seen the YouTube. Terrifying!
