I remember my Dad having one something like that about 25-30 years ago, lol.

IIRC, they weren't overly kind to the paintwork around the wheelarch or on the bonnet / wing shut-line.

Shame that no-one seems to have experience with S80 / V70 / XC70 mirrors, however, as the next car is likely to be an XC60 it looks like getting these will ensure that they are perfect for after I've changed my car as well
I use them on my V70 and they are fine with the folding mirrors. As others have already said, highly recommended.

Default Milenco?

Don't those Milenco ones: -

(a) knacker the paint on your existing wing-mirror; and
(b) eventually overload and wear out the hinge in your existing mirror?

Has anyone used the ones with rubber stickers that stick onto your existing mirror-surface, so that they are adjustable with the electric mirror adjusters?

No to all three.

Have used Milenco Aeros and now Grand Aeros on a number of cars with no damage to paint or hinges. We caravan a lot so the mirrors and fitted and removed about 40 times a year.

I think people have had issues with the 'suck-it-and- see' mirrors detaching if not properly stuck!

Milenco mirrors don't "knacker" the paint on the car mirror as they fix to the black plastic surround and the mirror hinge is not damaged as it is well supported.
