The inner CV joint is located immediately outboard of the support bearing (the one with the cap that's held on to the engine with two bolts). You will have to remove the whole lot to disassemble the inner CV - it's fairly straightforward. Once you have the stub axle from the outer CV out of the hub, you just remove the two bolts from the support bearing cap, remove the cap and tug the whole assembly in an axial direction. Try here for shafts, I can't vouch for the quality but the price seems good http://www.driveshaftparts.co.uk/index.php Good luck!

Thanks John,
I really appreciate that helpful post. I have got a secondhand inner cv joint which SEEMS ok. The trouble is finding out which one is worn. This site, http://au.geocities.com/ozbrick850/s...CV-joints.html suggests that the outer cv passenger side is more likely to wear out first - so I wonder if the inner cv is also more likely to wear out more quickly on the passenger side? Anyway, my next step is to remove the spare inner cv from the secondhand shaft I just bought. After that I'm not sure. I might have a go at installing it myself. Or I might just give it to my mechanic! Thanks again, D |
