Default Best place to buy brake discs and pads

Hello all,

I need new discs and pads on all 4 wheels. Instead of shelling out several hundred to the mechanic, i was hoping to get new ones and install them myself.

Can anyone recommend a reliable place to purchase the parts from? And is there a better type of disc than the genuine volvo ones worth mentioning?

Looking forward to your replies, and thanks in advance!

I'm sure that many will advise that you're best to stick with genuine Volvo kit sourced from FRF Swansea - I believe there's a healthy discount for forum members and I'm sure someone will post how to get this.

Personally I have always used Mintex discs and pads - their "brake box" kits contain discs and pads, I normally buy from a specialist seller on eBay and would avoid anyone who was only selling low volumes.

I have always used Mintex discs and pads on both the V40s and the 360 before that and never had any problems. Bought from the local motor factors.
