Default XC60 T5 - Very Rough and Noisy Running

For the past week or so, the car’s engine (MY19 XC60 T5 & Polestared) has been running very rough, noisy (as if the engine is working hard), sluggish (more sluggish at the roundabouts and starting from still). Initially, I thought it must due to cold start as the weather is getting colder day by day. However, it looks like that isn’t the case as the roughness, sluggishess and noise is constantly there. Can also feel the auto gear upshifts. All these happening when the car isn’t even in Eco mode; I mostly drive in Comfort mode.

Today I drove in Dynamic mode and I can clearly feel the sluggish acceleration which isn’t associated with Dynamic mode although the car is accelerating faster than in Comfort mode albeit with more noise. However, there isn’t that pleasant acceleration feel and sound that is normally associated with Dynamic mode. Didn’t experience any of the above until a week ago and the car was running so smooth, calm and pleasant.

I know there are quite a few T5 MY19 or MY18.5 owners and wondering if any have been experiencing similar issues and wondering what must be causing this. Any info and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Not experienced anything like the above, suggest a trip to the Dealers especially as your car is so new. Expect it will be an easy fix/tweak.

Definitely shouldn’t run rough in cold. I sampled an early xc60 t5 for a week in cold weather last winter and it was superbly smooth.

I'm surprised how smooth and responsive the T5 is so yours is definitely "naughty" and needs a dealers visit.

Just a thought, has it gone into Limp Mode?

Those are my exact impressions on T5 i.e. it is responsive and smooth and I am still keeping my impressions unchanged despite the issue. I am sure this is a temporary glitch of some kind and hope the dealers would be able to fix it easily.

One thing I forgot to mention in my post is that until now no error messages or fault lights have appeared on the displays. Hope that is a good sign.

Just done my first long trip - London to Newcastle to Middlesbrough and then to Carlisle and back to London - in 2 days - all very smooth and excellent motorway handling (ACC, Pilot Assist etc.)
Really smooth.

To-date my car has done 3550 miles since it was delivered in early July. My experience of the car is exactly the same as you described for 3500 miles of 3550 miles and it is only during the last 50 miles that it has been behaving like the way I descriped in my post #1.
