Should my doors auto relock if the door isn't opened?

Can anybody else confirm that if they unlock the car with the keyfob, don't attempt to open any door, that after a certain time (I assume 30 seconds) the car automatically relocks and arms itself? The manual seems to state so, yet mine doesn't and I can't find any option in the menu system where this may be deactivated. I've left it for a good hour and it's still sat there unlocked.
