update
decided to strip the car a bit removed the intercooler(only a tiny amount of oil came out which to me was normal...not as garage says full of oil) and the condensor only had a couple of drops of green stuff in it.and looking at the condensor i know why my air conditioning is warm/hot...the garage says the turbo has gone but on checking the vanes they both seem fine with the normal 2mm movement at one end(going into the turbo)....i wondered if the seals have gone inside...only a bit of oil can been seen where the pipe goes into the top of the exhaust from the turbo.and very little oil from the other side of the turbo...i have not removed the turbo yet, but was thinking about doing this and getting it checked over.as i would like to try and get this car up and running....not accepting what the garage has put after checking the intercooler and turbo....but there of course is something wrong somewhere.but i can see what looks like oil coming from somwhere.(see pic)i dont know if its coming from the manifold or the fuel pump i took a picture of this from underneath the car and the leak is just above the turbo and to the left a few inches.where do folk buy their O rings from for the intercooler as not sure about those on ebay....

for the volvo v50 turbo diesel 2007
here is a guide for the removal of the condensor.(mines similar)https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showt...t=Condenser.as while removing the intercooler i noticed a damp patch on the condensor so it made sense to remove that as well....i have also removed the turbo..these are the instructions dancake sent me...The turbo looks a little more complicated to remove on the D4204T engine. VIDA states the following-
Battery disconnected Cooling system drained Right engine mount removed (near side) Right driveshaft removed (near side) EGR cooler removed Turbo intake hose removed Turbo oil feed pipe removed Turbo outlet hose removed (to intercooler) Turbo oil return hose removed Cooling pipes that run behind the turbo removed Exhaust clamp removed from turbo and exhaust set out of the way Exhaust support bracket bolt removed Three exhaust studs removed from exhaust manifold The last point is where it gets a bit confusing according to the pictures in VIDA. The pictures show that the exhaust manifold needs to come off before you can access the two rearmost nuts securing the turbo to the manifold. There isn't a written description so I'm only going by the pictures.....just to add myself engine needs to be brought forward, but dont forget to remove a bolt at the base of the gearbox in order to do this...that big long pipe that leads from the air box right round the back of the engine, there is one bolt in the middle at the back and then going under the car and looking up towards the right at the end of the pipe, you can see one of the bolts remove that one(10mm i think)and then use a long extension bar going in from the right side underneath and reach over the top of the pipe to your left to feel it going in if you get my drift...be careful when removing the pipe as it has a metal piece attached to the base of the pipe which needs unclipping....the rubber feed or drain pipe that needs to be removed from the base of the turbo is not easy to get off once its been unclipped as you have to push the turbo up while pulling the rubber pipe downwards(do this of course only once the turbo and manifold are loose...soak those manifold bolts overnight and the bolt at the base of the gearbox first....any suggestions of where i could have the turbo checked.thanks

turbo strip down
anyone stripped one of these turbo's down(see above pics) and replaced the seals and other parts from a volvo v50 diesel 2007.according to the haynes manual it says you can't repair the turbo...i suspect the seals have gone...ive removed a few bolts and got one side of the turbo off, but can't get the 3 bolts off on the acuator plate(rusted up).i dont want to go down that road of replacing this turbo and then finding the car still smokes.so looking at the cheapest option.thanks all
