Insurance Recommendations
Insurance Question
We were with footman James for years then moved to Peter James. They have stated that if Gracie is at home she must be under the carport at night as if on the front she will not be insured which to me is silly as she can sit in a field with us when away and will be covered 🤔 as you can see it is tight putting her away and I hate doing it simon does it with ease. Insurance is due soon so can you recommend anyone else for Simon Gill to try this year Thanking you in advance Before someone comments I know picture is sideways, have not got a clue why 🤣

I'm assuming you probably stated that when its at home it will be in the carport, so when its at home but not in the carport it won't be covered.
I use Classicline and they have been very good with me as my car isn't standard but when its at home it is stated in the policy that its garaged, which it is, but what they would say if I attempted to claim when at home and not in the garage - who knows? Have you tried to amend the details for when its kept at home and see what that does to your premium or will they simply not cover you? Doug. |

I gave up fussing with classic policies.
In the end I found a regular car policy from Carol Nash, and even with no NCD (its all tied up in my dailies) the cost for a normal policy, with the same excesses, mileage limit and cover was barely half the best quote I was getting on classic specific policies. Even better, there are no restrictions upon where I park it overnight, although in my case that's always the garage anyway,

Do you have an Agreed Value on your car with this policy?

Yes. Being a C70 its value isnt huge and I bought it under market anyway, so there was no drama there sorting that. Might be different on a £500k classic Bentley though.

Thank you for all your help, renewal has just come in and peter James will not be getting our money this year with how much that has gone up and their silly excuse as to why that much
We are trying Adrian flux and I can leave the car on the drive overnight 🤣

Peter Best got a bit funny with me too years ago for similar reasons, so I moved to Hagerty. Never had to claim, but they were keenly priced.
