Whoops!!
That was a senior moment, I meant to say 740. I don't have a 940, and I like the lines of the 740. Perhaps a mod could edit my post.

Apologies to all my readers.

I think most of us above a certain age have one of those from time to time - what forum is this again?

Not read this thread cover to cover, but not seen any mention of a grand TDIC as a potential buy

It took months of searching many different sites to find our 940 TDIC and a 900 mile each way trip to bring her home

Hens teeth comes to mind when looking to purchase, these majestic beasts.

Not helped by you tube videos of youths buying them up, to put tractor like exhausts through the bonnets and over fuelling so they can coin the phrase "burning coal" LOL

A couple of "cool dudes" in their 945 D24TIC ;-)

N695GWR, M90, leather, 116k, £3200. "Recent head gasket inc cylinder head refresh and water pump. New disks and pads all around. New callipers on the rear. New set of Toyo Proxes tyres."

L958AKR or N695GWR would get my money. The other one is too modified and looks a bit rough. I'd want to know who did the head gasket on the latter though. I've learned to my detriment that, however "easy" the red block is to work on, people who struggle to replace a rear shock absorber probably shouldn't be changing cylinder head gaskets....

There's one of those available too.

So with a heavy heart I need to part with my cool old smoker 940 gle tdic.
99k starts on the button, runs sweet, has a folder full of old history/mots/original logbook etc. lived local its life which is probs why rust free. 7 months test left, costs me pence to insure on classic. Gets plenty of subtle attention, doubt you’ll find many the same left.

4x electric windows+sunroof
working aircon
Oem rear sunblind
Oem 16” hydras x5 with all caps
Oem rear spoiler+brake light
Oem Plastic mats
Ski hatch
Heated seats+mirrors working
Towbar+electrics working
Uncracked door cards
Working aerial
Everything works electrical/mechanical bar the fuel level sender and drivers headlight wiper motor.

Fuel pump has been slightly tweeked, 2.5” turbo back, egr blanked, est 160bhp does 35mpg, lowered 70mm, new kyb rear shocks, mocal gearbox oil cooler. Never be a race car but then it’ll easily tow one….*cough cough* m57/om606 swap 😉🤟

Really needs for nothing, has a few minor imperfections body wise as expected but nothing serious, could do with some pads/discs in the near future, the exhaust occasionally knocks on the towbar over speed bumps, I’ll try to get this sorted. Hasn’t the usual ‘worn’ 7/900 series issues like many. New battery recent starts 1 cycle of the plugs -2.

Comes with some spares, oem mudflaps, leather steering wheel, later centre console/arm rest, new gearknob etc just need fitting.

Genuine seller after a genuine sale, Any interest send me a dm cheers £3450 px tatty combo 1.7cdti/disco 1 300tdi/omega td estate plus cash my way

Located cannock staffs

I know these cars are capable of big miles but £4k seems a bit steep to me

That one has been for sale for quite a while, which underlines what you're saying Mark. It's overpriced by at least £1k.
