I am fortunate to be in the position of being able afford to buy a nice shiny new car, but really don't need the related seperation anxiety and further emotion (fury) attached to returning to a damaged car. Not only that but I perceive all new cars are somewhat primadonna like in their design these days.

I can't entertain the prospect of repairing every scratch and dent as and when it happens just to have another one appear. I also couldn't justify the time out element while the vehicle has it's nails and eyebrows redone.

I used to be obsessive about my cars appearance, but with the passing of the years and repeated damage I gave up. As long as my vehicle/s is/are relatively reliable, comfortable, presentable and not an embarrasment, and further fulfil their purpose that's all I need. Also no finance agreement to fund or paranoia about what condition the car is in when it goes back to the finance/leasing company.

It might be different if, again there was respect for other peoples property in society, or even if people would put there hands up, but there aint much hope of that !

And they already paid out £150 towards the costs for one deeper scratch (which cannot be fixed from their mobile van) on the rear bumper. At this rate, in three years, I will at least triple the value received out of this insurance product.
I have my car booked in to repair scratch on door and mark on door frame, I took the policy out when buying car and it was £600, while checking the car in online they seem to be charging me £20 per repair is this standard practice. I thought the £600 covered all costs.

Thanks in advance

That entirely depends on the terms of your policy. What does the policy document say?

I bought mine at the dealership when buying the car. Everything is covered, and I don't have any extra costs. As the winter is about to end, I will claim probably 2-3 more scratches I've seen about, and some marks on the tyres. All at no extra cost.
As Philip Fisher said, you need to check the wording of your policy.
My policy is with AutoTrust.
