1971 Volvo 144 - How much is it worth?
Hi All,
I am sad to be moving towards selling my beloved Volvo 144. Living in London is making it difficult to keep! Before I sell it I wanted to see if anyone would be willing to put a price on it? I bought it for £1000 two years ago, and have since fixed up the engine, suspension, and brake system so that it is running nicely - I have probably spent another couple of thousand on it! Maybe not that much, but certainly enough to be too much. It's done 105k and is in nice condition. Definitely not concours, but nice. There is some rust around on the body work, most notably on the tops of the front wings, where it is bubbling the paint. But I have very thoroughly Dinitrolled everything and there doesn't seem to be anything getting worse. I will try to get some pictures today to add to the thread. A friend of a friend has offered £1500 for it and I don't really have a clue what it's worth. It's not got overdrive and it is in desperate need of a garage and a wax, but it's a good runner. I really don't want to sell it but I can only get one residents parking permit and I need a car with 5 gears!! |
