Yes I did post in the wrong section as mine is a 2002, sorry.

Thanks to everyone that's tried to help.

The car runs fine and is fetting 50mpg ++. I guess my next step is to get a code reader. Can anyone reccomended a good one, without any arguments please! :

Volvo DICE with a computer running Win XP SP3 would be your best bet.

Out of curiosity, next time your fan keeps going on, try unplugging the MAF connector and see if it solves your problem. You have nothing to lose trying it

Koosintea,

Drop me a pm and I will send over a wiring diagram and a detailed test plan. If you are good with a soldering iron and a DVM you can often repair these. Again I will include some guidance in the mail.

FWIW, in the few cases I've come across, it's been caused by low AC pressure

cheers

firstly I have not read the last 7 pages so dont know what has been suggested.

I however I had my fan go from working fine to shorting on constantly.

it flattened my battery within 40 min

even when I left the car overnight

solution was buy a seconds hand fan from ebay.

what year is your v70 as there was a recall on them
