Default Just applied for a job with Volvo

I've just put in my application as a Manufacturing Engineering Graduate with Volvo Sweden for 2013. I'm in Final Year of my Mechanical Engineering degree at the moment and have worked in the automotive trade almost exclusively, including in a manufacturing environment.

Just wondering if anybody on here has worked/does work for the company in Sweden, and could give any feedback or experience?

The two automotive companies I really want to work for are Volvo and Jaguar/Land Rover, applications in for both now...

Here's hoping I at least get an interview in Sweden!

Sounds great so good luck with it.

When you do get the job, suggest to Volvo that they include in the design in the boot a 'small vertical load cover at the rear next to the tailgate than can be recessed in the floor and pulled up to join the roller cover' as this would stop everything falling out when the electric tailgate is opened!

Regards

I wish you well

When you get to a position of influence perhaps you can persuade them to reinstall the spare wheel!!!

Best of luck! Been many times to various Ericsson sites and love the country. Mate runs a mountainbike workshop over there near Gothenburg and has a fantastic life. Hope it comes good for you!

Fantastic news! Well done and hopefully it goes well.

As I am swedish, I am sure I could help you with the various questions you may have, so please ask away. But I can say this... working in Sweden gives you lots of rights and protection you didn't know even existsed

Just don't expect to be able to buy a beer or bottle of wine of a Saturday night - alchohol are strongly controlled by the government and the stronger stuff (above 3.5%) can only be bought from special shops.... (except restaurants).

Got to say, I've always fancied a life in Scandinavia - soon as a job opens up in my field that's tempting enough think I'll go for it! W
What kind of perks do you get for working over there?
And apologies for boosting the thread!
