Default XC40 Dashcam for 2024 MY

New XC40 incoming and my dealer has advised that Volvo UK is testing Roadhawk 4 whilst still fitting version 3. Not a lot of info online on these, anyone got any experience of Roadhawk or alternatives that don’t interfere with the windscreen mounted electronics? Thanks.

I have a 4 year old Nextbase that I migrated from my V40. Fitted by the dealership to my XC40 and has worked perfectly ever since.

I have a BlackVue DR750X front and rear camera that I was using in a V40 and am now using in an XC40 pro.
The front camera is mounted about an inch away from the plastic box housing all the sensors on the screen and no problems at all.

Just an update on this as I was booked in to have the new Roadhawk dash cam (as advertised on Volvo accessories website) installed this week at my local Volvo dealer.

Unfortunately, we have had notification that the Roadhawk system has been temporarily withdrawn as there is a technical issue that could cause the system not to function correctly.

Seems like we will have to wait until 2024 they can offer a suitable dash cam…

Are you just going to use a cheap alternative in the meantime?

I have a fitcamx/novatek alternative installed in my 2023 fully electric, no issues with sensors so far, and it uses the rain sensor cable for power, literally 3 minute install, have to say you don't even notice it as it clips to the underside of the mirror/sensor housing and has a great view, not everyone will like the idea but might be worth a look, I am very happy with mine and they do a rear cam option also(although I only got the forward facing version)
