Agreed! After some dune bashing in a landcruiser during a trip to Dubai, I certainly can't see an XC90 managing that...However, the XC90 is much better looking.

What percentage of XC90 even get dirty let alone go off-road.I bet you the vast majority of owners don't even have off-road tyres or even Winters on them.
Also it's a proven fact that a regular car with winter tyres will perform staggeringly better than a 4x4 with normal road tyres.
People buy theXc90 for the kudos and safety factor, just like footballers used to buy Range Rovers, sorry but it's true, school run=XC90 or Cayenne Turbo for pose factor.

Uncomfortable, prodigious thirst, expensive to service, suspension is a weak point, but can be modified. The Nissan Patrol has taken over as the UN number one.

I think the LR Defender is still the best off roader there is, followed by the G class Merc, followed by the LR Disco 4,

The Range Rover also has a lot going for it off road although it is very expensive to buy and run.

Best 7 seat SUV I'd give to the XC90. Best 5 seat SUV I'd give to the XC60. I do own one though so I'm biased.
