Wastegate again
Was messing around today with my wastegate linkage to adjust it. My question is this... when the linkage rod is off of the turbo, should there be some sort of resistance on the lever coming out the turbo when you move it, maybe a return to one side or the other? Mine doesn't
Hope you know what I'm getting at. Chris |

You mean when it is not connected to the actuator, i.e it is not connected to the thing on top of the turbo which pushes it in and out?
Then the answer is no, there should be no resistance. As long as it doesn't move up and down and just left right then that's fine. The wastegate is literally just a circular metal flap, free to move about. Do you remember when I was having trouble with my wastegate some while ago? If you look at my pictures pages you can see some pictures of the wastegate looks like inside: http://www.volvoclub.org.uk/photopos...500&ppuser=568 Cheers, Pete |
