Excellent Service and a Great Deal Too!

Further to Doorman's post on here a while ago regarding a company called LongLife Exhausts, I would like to chip-in and say that I have found them to be excellent too!

My cat has been rattling for a while and driving me mad. Price of new Volvo cat was around £700!!!

Spoke to Kwik Fit, who, to their credit, tried to talk me out of buying a new cat (£310-£410 depending on type) just because of a rattle.

Tried LongLife, quoted me £503 for a full stainless system including cat: Cat to back but joining to the existing front section. Turned up at their premises in Leeds. Very helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant (and gave me that warm fuzzy feeling that I could trust them with my car!). Turned out that the front section was knackered and causing the rattle - twin walled pipe from manifold back to cat. The quote was revised to £650 pounds to take this into account and to add a swish tail piece that looks very similar to the original item, but stainless.

Dropped off in Leeds. Whilst shopping got a call from Ian, the manager, to say that my original cat (that is stainless) was like new inside, so they asked if I was happy to use it rather than a new one! Quote re-revised to £450! Yahoo!

Pipe built and fitted by 3pm and on my way home. No louder than standard, sounds more 'tuned' though and makes the car feel more responsive and smoother (probably my imagination!).

Bloody hell, where's the catch? I can't find one at the moment! The only problem for anyone else that may have it done to their 960 is that the price is going to be revised a bit due to how fiddly the job is - but they honoured their quote to me.

Oh, and the pipe is guaranteed for life, and it can be transferred to a new owner too!

I'm not on commission, but please give them a go if you need any exhaust work done, they have quite a few franchises south of Leeds.

I'm very pleased that you experienced the same great service that I did, I wondered if it was a one off, but, by the feed back that has spun off from my original thread, plus yours, it would seem that they truly are a six star company. So, there you have it, if you need a replacement or custom exhaust, Longlife are the people to trust.
