Default Retrofit cruise and volume controls

I've noticed that most Japanese imported V70s are missing cruise control and volume controls on the steering wheel.

Would the necessary wiring be in place so that fitting a steering wheel with the buttons would enable both? With the cruise I would presume some software updates would also be required.

They also don't have reversing sensors, but I expect that you would need to fit aftermarket ones of these.

Any thoughts?

Hiya,

Would take this as a 'car by car basis'.

If you were looking at getting one, try get the VIN number as see if it could be fitted.

Also you say v70, this also depends on the year. Looking through the accessories website, I stuck a 2012 model in and it lists parking sensors, cameras and cruise control as accessories, so they can be fitted by a dealer afterwards.

It also lists cruise, parking sensors etc for the older ones. Stuck a 2005 into the accessories and its lists these as available, however parts may be discontinued from Volvo now as the older gen v70s are getting on a bit.

Hope this helps!

Mine originally did not have cruise. It was added via a software update at a Volvo garage. I believe the only hardware added was the button unit on the steering wheel.
