LED replacement light bulbs
Hi all
I have noticed that LED replacement bulbs have appeared on the market for indicator/brake lights etc - eg 21W singles, 21W/5W doubles. These are completely interchangeable with old style incandescent bulbs with bayonet bases, but use a lot less power, and last longer as well. So I bought these for my tail/brake lights - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330955341565 - cheap as chips, but they weren't bright enough. Can anybody recommend LED replacements for 21W and 21W/5W bulbs - which are definitely as bright as the old bulbs? Preferrably with an online or ebay link? I now understand that they need to have 'can-bus' in the product title, which means there's a resistor that tricks the bulb failure warning light into thinking that it's got normal bulbs. One problem is they don't seem to be 'standardised', and you can get them with 16, 24 or more LEDs - but I can't get information about which will give the same amount of light as an old bulb (that's a separate issue to wattage - they use a lot less). I initially put this on the general forum, but nobody responded. I'm hoping someone from the sensible and helpful 200-series bunch might know. If I find ones which are right for the job, and cheap on ebay, I will be sure to post the link here, to save others having to do the research. Thanks John 92 K 240 est B200F M47 |

I was thinking the same some time ago. Although I cant give any technical advice as electrics are not one of my strong points but would a decent bulb pack have "equivalent to XXw bulbs"?? Like household energy bulbs?
