how to clear a message on the instrument cluster
Further to my post this week regarding warning message, I purchased a diagnostic plug in tool to hopefully give me fault codes causing this warning message.
Plugged it in and followed the instructions to the letter..... 'NO CODES'. Great news, however the warning message still present. There are no other small warning symbols on the instrument panel. How do you turn this warning message off, as the diagnostic tool will only delete a code if one is present. Thanks in advance |

If it was a simple OBD2 code reader then you can only really rely on it to read engine fault codes.

What’s the message?
It could be anything from the car being due a service, to the engine is about to drop out (ok, slight exaggeration) Also useful if you tell us what car/engine and the age and mileage. |

Also, you might want to fix the problem before just deleting the code(s). If its a warning as you describe, those problems need fixing & not deleting. If you just delete engine warnings without fixing the issue in the first place, there's a high likelihood that the warning will just come back on again. There will be an underlying fault code if this message is coming up.
