Hi @Otl1uk,
It wasn't a true signal, the app was playing up. See the other posts in this thread. Interestingly it seems like you don't need to drive them fully down to calibrate any more, because if they drive fully home but are not at the expected position i.e. overdriving, the car lowers the windows automatically then drives them back home and recalibrates on the fly.

The other annoying thing is the keyless entry, on the Mk3 you could open any door with the key in your pocket. With the Mk4 you have to unlock the car by touching one of the front doors then you can open a rear door. Real PITA when it's raining and you just want to throw your jacket on the back seat before getting in and driving off.

Silly question but I assume you've checked the unlock settings in case there's some weird option/combo doing it? (I realise that's a very obvious suggestion, not trying to offend). Does it state anything in the user manual?

Yes, tried all the options, it just appears to be what Ford have implemented moving from Mk3 to Mk4.
Back to the original post and using the app with the car have you tried logging out of the app and logging in again ? If that fails try deleting the app and reinstalling then switch the phone off for 30-60 seconds before logging in. This will force a refresh of the connection between the car and app.

On a separate note how do you find the XC60 over the V60 ?
I'm ignoring performance more focused on interior space, I have two teenagers 18 and 16 plus a mid-size dog which is why I have a Focus estate. I did look at a V90 which is a lovely car though I do like a diesel engine for long distance journeys, usually 700+ miles. How does the XC60 and V60 compare for space ?

I mean if physical space is the factor the V60 will always win, and the V90 even more so, but the wideness of the XC60 allows for easier higher stacking, so it's swings and roundabouts depending on what you're trying to transport. As for interior space, the two are very similar, however the XC60 is taller and ours has full panoramic roof plus cream interior, so it feel much more spacious than the V60 from a comfort perspective. That said, our XC60 is a MY20 Inscription Pro PHEV and the V60 a MY16 R-Design Diesel, so it's not a like-for-like comparison of materials or design choices and the V60 with pano-roof and cream interior may feel just as spacious, but I don't think it will purely because of the extra headroom height the XC60 offers. It's such a shame they are stopping production of the estates as my dream car would be a full EV CCV90, and I'd take the V90 over the XC60 any day. I'm hoping they see the error of their ways in the near future and restart production, but given the release of the EX30/90 and EM90, it seems unlikely.

Thats the problem I have. I would be ready to change my car, but it's a case of "would sir like a Large, Medium, Small or even Smaller (SUV's). As I don't like SUV's I'm screwed, unless they see the error of their ways, which I doubt. On a bright note, at least I bought the right car, love the V90CC, so will be keeping it for the foreeseable.

Thanks for taking the time and noting your thoughts. I tried a V90 with pano roof, very nice though I prefer diesel for my use and that VEA diesel doesn't appeal.
The S and V cars are still in production, Volvo cars UK have decided there's no market based on whatever data they have chosen to follow. You can still get RHD cars in Ireland.

Volvo don't want estate cars in their lineup but you would have thought their history would drive their planning. Volvo IS estate cars.
Since 2001 I have had two Alfa Sportwagons but driven away by their adoption of SUVs. Now a V90 and wondering whether to keep it or get the last of the 2023 cars. When I looked at a 2023 V90 I noted that the Load Cover no longer motors away and the boot floor is now propped up by a piece of string instead of struts. And then there is the whole Google issue. I know Sensus is getting worse at showing traffic problems but otherwise just works.
