Default Should the revs changed on a cold start....

Hi folks, I am fairly sure my cars revs are the same, hot or cold start, about 700'ish, when its a cold, cold start, its like it sounds better if i rev it to around 1000...

"...slowly dropped" means 15 to 20 seconds, yes?
During this season's -20℃ mornings my petrol would rev high for 45 seconds.
It's extremely consistent.

Not as yet as it would need to be cold, my carport is mostly enclosed except for the entrance and sun-facing, by the time it's a reasonable hour to faff about out there, the sun has already warmed everything up. Plus, its highly likely that it was a false alarm, i was probably expecting it to be above 1k revs with the choke on, as it was always below that, i assumed that the choke wasn't working, as it went to 900 then it is working ok

mine (petrol not diesel if that makes a difference) hovers at around 14-500 for maybe 20 seconds then drops down to 1000 for about 15-20 seconds then settles around 700, depending how cold. in winter it was taking longer

tbh it feels like that's a bit over the top but because it settles quickly and no drama during the drive I don't mind because it helps to warm up nice and quick

is there even a choke on it now (other than just as a turn of phrase) I was assuming it just adjusted fuel trim electronically
