850 estate: indicator not canelling after turning left
The indicator on my 850 estate (approx 150k miles) is no longer self cancelling after a left turn but is fine on right turns.
My guess is that the lug for left hand turns has broken or worn - presumably removing the indicator stalk would confirm that? |

On the '97 V70 this had been a problem:~
Sometimes removing the indicator stalk- clean & grease up helps. Remove wheel trim sections: (Remove cable connectors & two small bolts) arm will just pull away. If not take a close look at the plastic (clear plastic) fitting that turns with the wheel and has an eccentric that knocks the indicator on/off. If this is broken then if can cause the problem-no need to remove the wheel, You should see a screw holding the ring in place, the little holding tab can snap. If it has, loosen the screw and work some superglue into the gap- hold in place until dry and then tighten the self tapper up lightly. If the break is as above but greater than a minor break then a small over tab of metal/copper can be made and glued into place with J.B.Weld and the holding screw- some masking off may be required. The S/Glue method has been fine to date on my car, Regards Bob. Last edited by Bob Meadows; Apr 8th, 2022 at 12:46. |

It may be the clock spring.
https://www.pelicanparts.com/techart...eplacement.htm This was the problem with my V70 showing the same symptoms as you describe. You may need to remove the steering wheel to get better access
