Default S70 Air Con

Hello All, Hope you don't mind a 760/940 owner popping in to see how the other half live!

Seriously now, my parents have a problem with their 1998 S70 2.5 10v. They had the air-con regassed before going to France on holiday and within a few weeks it had lost its charge again. A French air-con specialist diagnosed a leaking evaporator...

I understand that this is common but that you can get replacement parts (made of brass?) so that the problem should not recurr.

Could anyone tell me who to contact about these, and an idea of how they compare in price with the standard part?

Also, can someone in the Chelmsford, Essex area recommend an affordable but competent garage to undertake the lengthy job of replacing an evaporator?

Many thanks for any help you can offer,

Ian HT

Phil Wright on phil@t5r.org has had the copper replacement fitted - contact him for details.
