I put a bit of hot glue in the hole just to keep it dry til the seam sealer arrives Monday, it should pull out fine, it's a nice big blob and tends to hold together well. That said, it only leaked when a large amount of water was poured in the grill, so maybe it's when we wash the car that the problem's happening. Regardless, should be sorted soon.
Firefox by an chance Chris? Try shutting it down and restarting it, had exactly the same yesterday on mine because of a Firefox update.

As for the hot glue, that should do the job nicely and has given me an idea about something else - thanks!

Chris:~
Not wishing to give you any additional work- whilst working the area you are at etc it is worth removing the card kick plate cover for the "A" posts, this will give you a full view of the same plus door hinges & triangular braces for the posts- they can tend to rust out if water has got through.
Flood the areas with wax treatment (dilute with clean oil and it will flow better) the floor areas you have mentioned can also be treated plus the inner sills through the cab grommets.
Hope it helps.
Bob.

Picture borrowed from the excellent 240 restoration on the forum- you can also view the inner post part on this.

Thanks Bob - I've put it all back ready for the MoT, but will lift it back out next week and have a good look then. I think the plan will be to get all the carpets etc out when the weather's nice and clean, check and waxoyl everything we can from the inside - I know there's some welding to do at the back, in one wheel well and along the underside of the tailgate (under the slam panel, I think it's called?). That way, we can get any other metalwork sorted at one time - I've found a good welder to do it for us.

Dave - no, I was on Chrome, still not working, so now on Firefox! odd...

Yes, it helps Chris and no, you haven't got ABS on that one.

*** EDIT ***

I was trying to do the "draw a coloured line to show something" and got it wrong due to finger trouble. Anyway, here's the "scribbled on" pic :

If you look at the top "circle" near the brake master cylinder, first clue is the brake lines go straight down to the braking system without going to the ABS modulator first.

If you look at the bottom circle, that's where the modulator is on the 7xx and because yours is a 1990, should have the modulator in a similar place too, although some earlier cars i believe had them in the luggage area.

If you don't have an ABS warning light that comes on with key position 2 before starting then it's pretty much a certainty you don't have ABS.

The very last 240 SE's were offered with ABS but it was really only a US-market fitting.

The other way of checking is by looking at the front calipers: if they are 4-piston, fixed-calipers the car has a triangular braking system and no ABS, if they are sliding calipers the car does have ABS.
