Echo on the leasing front. If you purchase for £41k and keep for 4 years, let's say it's worth £20k after 8 years - perhaps even that is optimistic.

That's a depreciation of £21k over 4 years - which is £437.50 per month.

Lease deals on XC90's can be picked up for £538/month for a brand new car with warranty and VED paid, all consumables such as tyres, brakes, oil, etc are brand new. (48 months, no deposit, 8k miles/yr).

Depreciation is dead money as is leasing. If both are similar, leasing would be the way to go.

Saying that, looks like you have a pile of options on the car, so not so clear cut on leasing

Decisions decisions...

Default Warranty for ERAD UK

Hi there,

I have recently purchased a used 2016 XC90 T8 with 60k miles and full service. The car / battery is now out of warranty and am just investigating whether it is worth getting an extended warranty. I have noticed on this forum since comments on extended warranty and replacement of the ERAD, so was wondering what others thoughts were on A) need for extended warranty B) any suggestions on warranty providers that cover ERAD for an 8 year old vehicle.

Thanks!
