Default Injectors codes meaning

Hello all,

I'm currently in a process of finding and replacing injector #3 as it got short circuit (error code: ECM-P1263 - Cylinder 3 High to Low side short circuit)

Could you please shed a light what the codes on top of the injector actually mean and what I should be aware of when replacing it?
(I noticed that the last line (KJ25) is the same for all four injectors)

Also (but secondly) what is this green ring around high pressure line of injector #3?
It exist only in this one.

Injector codes in a basic summary is telling the ECM the specific data for that injector such as manufacture tolerance ect so that the ECM can control and fine tune the running of the engine for best performance. It’s a fuel economy and emissions thing basically and has been about since the early 2000s in some shape or form. It’s a progression from the older class system that did not require coding.

The code you require is the AFJJKG in your photo.

Be aware if you are fitting a reman injector, these should come with a there own separate code. Do not use the code on the solenoid. As part of the recon process all previous coding data is irrelevant and a new code should be issued with the injector.

The green thing on the injection pipe is most likely a vibration damper. You seen these alot on common rail lines due to the high pressure pulses inside the lines.

OK,
thanks for your reply and info.

When I read that it needs to be replaced with one of the same class, where can I find the class of the current injector?

Is it embedded in its AFJJKG code?
Can I decode it somehow, using Vida?

The class system does not apply here that is older technology. You just need the code off your replacement injector and programme it in.
