I think it was primarily a military vehicle, 'morsing'.
I have seen a few in the backwoods of Sweden, presumably sold into Civvy Street on withdrawal from active* service. Think L.R. Defender on steroids - you'll never get stuck and only break down if struck by a guided missile. I think the MPG figure quoted by the chap in the vid may be a little optimistic though, even on the road. Off road, in low range and all wheel drive, a litre per mile, (4 - 6 MPG) would be more realistic, especially if it is well worn. Regards, John.
