Default XC60 tire size change?

I am thinking of changing the oryginal tires (235/60 R18) to a smaller offset of 45 (235/45 R18). I wonder if some of you has also done something simillar or resigned for some reason.

This is only to get a better look because offset 60 is kind of thick tire in comparison to 18" rim. Do you think 45 will be a lot more bumpy? Maybe someone has pictures?

I wasn't able to find anything on this topic in google. Hope you can help ;-)
Does this smaller offset and slimmer tire fit SUV type of car at all?

235/45-18 will be too small for the xc60. If you can find one the right weight rating, your speedometer will over-read, and you will also notice the gap between the tire and wheel arch will be bigger. The car will also look weird, as the tire is obviously too small for it.

Not to mention that the tyres will wear out quickly and the steering will be difficult as you have changed the fundementals of the steering geometry.

For a start, 45 or 60 is not the offset, it is the aspect ratio of the tyre. For instance, my XC90 has 255/55 X 19 tyres. The sidewall hight is 55% of the width. Secondly, if you want thinner sidewalls, you need to use bigger rims. I think on the XC60 Volvo have the option of 255/45 X 20.

OK, thanks for all your hints ;-) Now I know that my knowledge about tires and rims was very limited ;-) You've helped a lot. Thank's again ;-)
