Default Cigarette Lighter remains live after engine switched off.

I have a S4o 2002 with 37,498 original mls.
The problem I have is that the cigarette lighter remains live after the engine is switched off.
How can I resolve this problem?

You haven't got a problem, it is meant to be live.

Or delayed switch off, you may find it shuts down when the car fully goes to sleep after locking and priming the alarm.

On these cars the lighter socket is always live.

Thanks for your reply reference the cigarette lighter remaining live on this model of car.
Can the process be reversed so the lighter socket doesn't remain live?

No...it doesn't switch off after a while.
I found this out when I went out and found the SAT NAV and Dash Cam still on.
I just want a solution to reverse the lighter post.

You would have to rewire the live feed to the lighter socket so that it feeds through the ignition switch. It would then be dead when the ignition is off.
