I don't remember the Ely one Andrew but i do know the Forty Foot, one of the most dangerous roads in Britain and that's without doing anything............ errrrrrrrrrrr ............. "questionable" while driving on it!

Fairly sure Wissington is still going, went past that a week or two back on my way to Kings Lynn, Bury St Edmunds of course but i do know the roads are cleaner during winter, largely due to less beet being harvested!

I remember during a local authority strike, 1980s, the Forty Foot was so ice covered it could have been skated on , NO. exaggeration. Loaded lorries are fairly stable if you take your time.

I’ve lost track of what has happened with your 145 (Margo) Steve. I get the feeling from the above that ownership hasn’t gone well, but when I checked the project thread there were no posts after mid-November. Have I missed something (I’ve been a bit preoccupied with the S’Vegas house and motorcycle projects)?

Hi Alan,

No, Margo is all well and good… ish!!!

As perhaps you predicted, life gets in the way, as part of the deal with the better half, house stuff came before workshop, only today did I get the chimney pots back in place with their new flaunching. Then mother (91) I found on the floor a month or so ago, broke her hip and on ‘end of life programme’ that we were aware of but it buggers your day to day ‘normal’.

So poor Margo has a flat battery, revised plan no 42 is to finish house stuff, refelt and batten the whole roof, redecorate windows and replace patio doors , then I can start on workshop 😀😀 boys toys, oh yes please……..

I have basically stopped working as I was fortunate to take my work pension last April, and will concentrate on getting stuff done so I can get Margo back home and rummage into her rusty underclothes .

Cheers

I think this is a new listing, new MOT but not sure as photo 15 has a hole in sill structure, suppose it’s not within specified distance??

Yes, I dare say so, the MOT history isn’t exactly fault free either

I would put that hole within 12"/30cm of the front corner of the seat mount. As the seat belt mount is on the opposite corner of the seat, the whole seat is considered to be a seat belt mount which means the corrosion (hole!!!) is also within the proscribed distance - i.e. an MoT failure!

Also :

Those rust holes at the bottom of the D pillars, while not being a failure point, don't bode well for the overall condition of the car.

Looking at the MoT history, it's had quite a lot of welding in the past. Also it appears the clock doesn't work suggesting instrument cluster problems.

Looks nice at first glance but scratch the surface and loads of nasties appear!

*** EDIT ***

I did try to get the images on this post, doesn't seem to have worked unless my internet is on such a go-slow it's not showing them.

Anyway, first pic is the holey sill, second is the tailgate surround with the holes at the bottom.
Definitely more holey than godly!
