Default wanted - complete power steering

Hi, I need to upgrade the manual steering of my old legend. After four years I'm starting to feel some, so to speak, shoulders fatigue.

car is a 1978, big bumper 244 DL. A complete set (pump, rack etc.) would be ideal. please PM me if anything comes up.

many thanks

All later 240s had PAS fitted, so any breaker car listed on ebay should be able to donate the parts.

Having said that, the manual steering shouldn't be too heavy. Is it running on standard tyres?

Another thing to check: a previous owner might have fitted the wrong lower ball joints to your car. The PAS ball joint brackets are offset, to increase the caster angle. The added caster means you're effectively lifting the car body slightly as you steer, hence increased steering weight if fitted to a non-PAS car in error.
