C70 for sale
Hello I have a 1999 C70 with all the extras Dolby music system etc, 2.4 Auto
In the family since new total of 3 owners. Low mileage for year 104,000 . I have in the last three years fitted new suspension struts front, new springs on the rear. Full service last year new break pads all round, new filters even drained the gearbox oil. I fitted a brand new roof cover three years ago. I have also repainted in beautiful pearl red base coat and clear finish this car bodywork is in As new condition, new bulbs in headlights so many other things to mention, it has done 300 miles since it’s last mot in May this year no advisories The hood started to play up hence the little use. I have a second car I use as my daily and since I have retired I cannot justify running two cars. I only want to sell my C70 to someone who loves Volvos and would appreciate how good she is. She runs perfect with no problems at all. Can send photos to anyone interested. I am not looking for a lot £1000 whoever sees it will buy it is pristine. "The hood started to play up hence the little use." What does this mean? Is the bonnet loose?

So....hood is rag top. Thanks.
I honestly believe convertibles are so rare here we don't have a nickname for them. In fact, pivoting (metal) retractable hard tops were called just that or just 'retractable hardtops'. Google "Ford Skyliner" for a real juicy piece of Americana. I knew about bonnet and wing. 'Hood', as in Boys in the Hood is, obviously, short for neighborhood. FYI: In hep real estate speak, 'nabe' is neighborhood. Homey (for home boy) was popularized here on a TV show called, "In Living Color" by a black character. Ergo, it's racially linked thus radioactive. "Towny" is an interesting term used to denote local workers on village and town payrolls OR any regular accumulation of dregs you'd rather not see gracing your park benches. Again, multiple definitions renders the term unusable. After all that let me just say I hope Peter's C70 goes to a good 'home'. Last edited by Georgeandkira; Sep 12th, 2022 at 17:43. |

For us 'carrot crunchers' the latter description of 'Towney ' is quite apt...
