2004 S60 D5 Engine mount?
Hi all!
Just picked up an S60 as a daily, didn't need a big boot etc.. so no V70 this time. Having never had to change engine mounts on my previous cars... 850, V70 mk1 & 2 my knowledge is limited.. poly, OE or just ignore it? My question is this, I need a new top engine mount but can only find square style rather than the traditional round bush/mount? Is the square design an upgrade alternative? I usually buy off evilbay but it seems safer and quicker to pay a bit extra from my local factors but even they are scratching their heads as to which mount should be used? Any info would be gratefully appreciated. |

Not sure but they might be pneumatic ones, see it anything running off the airfilter housing goes down to them. Durr just seen it's a top one not a bottom one. |

Definitely don't poly bush you will immediately regret the vibrations especially at idle
Round and square brackets are interchangeable, I had round and changed to square because I figured it was a newer design aimed at better dampening My understanding was the square one was designed with diesel in mind I.e better for excessive vibration. Which may or may not be correct Last edited by stuart bowes; Sep 12th, 2022 at 19:01. |
