Feeler.....possible track day/group thrash..

It has been discussed amongst a few performance keen Volvo owners to arrange a group thrash at a designated suitable private location. This thread is designed to put the feelers out to those to whom it would appeal and get some feedback/suggestions as to dates and location. A few possibles already mentioned are Santa Pod 1/4 drag strip, Castle Coombe, Brunters or possibly something down south using RT's as a central meeting point to then convoy to said suitable location.. it has also been suggested that a prefered date for organising such a get together would be somewhere between late August and early September. I will say now this idea was originated around some friendly banter between owners of the performance 850 saloon/estate models and indeed a link from the thread responsible will no doubt have guided some to this thread. I will however stress it is open to all with a common interest in a thrash and those who wish to excercise his/hers Volvos abilities

At this stage I believe we are limiting it to saloons only but that too can be open for debate.

So please suggestions if you will...

I will be up for this i have a few ideas i think it should be a saloon only do though not sure if i will be ready by Aug but have to be ready by sept.....

If it's a saloon only event then unfortunatly that would rule out my car. Im sure I can find a S60R or two I could use though

A proper track is far better that an airfield, I can send you a list of dates for Castle Combe and Silverstone if you want.

PS why saloon only?

For the track or thrash part of the meet itself I don't think we would have to exclude estates? Count me in though still. As for dates I don't mind, but the sooner we plan a date the better!

Is certainly a good suggestion and would help costs down for those on a budget....

Just post the dates for those locations here then we can look at all the options together and decided democratically..or at least attempt to! lol

As for saloon only well that's because it was part of the original suggestion from Kerrys thread re. getting aload of saloons together for a group thrash certainly would be good for a few photo opportunities showing various stages of tune/exterior/interior modifications from the same model. But as said all options considered as nothing is decided yet

Marham is a bit of a long haul for me but may be up for that, can you post some details?

The saloon thing was only a bunch of us getting together for a photo shoot but it seems to be growing from the original idea.
