I don't doubt that Luke, it will just be up to individual MoT testers.

I do keep a printed copy of 'MOT special notice 01-21: headlamp conversions
Published 19 March 2021' in the Barge's glove compartment just in case.

Alan

PS. I also keep two H4 halogen bulbs in the boot - just in case .

Default The Barge is Sold!

The Barge is sold to a very nice chap from Essex.

I could have sold it twice over today - so I suspect I let it go a bit cheaply, it was a very good motorcar indeed.

Hi Alan,

Great news, and whilst you may have been able to squeeze a few more pounds from another buyer, as long as both parties feel a decent deal done, then I'd say that's a success.

Hope the sale all goes as planned, then you can get onto searching for your next project.

Just need to get down to Somerset first.

Cheers
Steve

Absolutely Steve,

The new owner is a nice chap (showed up in a 240 VWW from 1993 with 250,000 miles) and understands classic motor cars. We both got a good deal, I'm happy with that.

I hope so also Lucien,

He says he wants to use the Barge as a daily driver, sharing the mileage with his 240 VWW, and also have an interesting motorcar to take to the odd show or meet. I think the Barge will be perfect.

All in all a good day.

Congratulations on the quick sale.

Be interesting to see what you buy once you are down here

How far from the sea front will you be? I lived one 'block' back form Burnham sea front for s time and the sand and salt used to blow up under the car and settle around the spark plugs.
(And everywhere else, but the plug holes required very careful cleaning!)
If you take a walk along the houses built behind the dunes, Trinity Rise etc, the cars look like they have been cleaned with a scouring pad.
