Hi
I have heard that with this engine the ECM can loose its memory/program if left powered down for a long period. Others might confirm or not?

yes this I have come across a handful of times on the early cars , It will need to be towed to the dealer for an ECU reload if that happens . Only 2.0D ECUs however.
