I checked the evap canister and vacuum lines close to the fpr. Also sprayed some start pilot but there were no signs of leaks.
Also checked fuel trims. On idle the short was between 0 and 6% and long was 3,1%. Seems pretty normal to me. Then i started to think what if the catalysator is a bit clogged? Ive noticed that sometimes when i get off from motorway the car feels perky for a little while and then goes back to the lazy old skank what she usually is. |

Did you change both O2 sensors for VOLVO ones?
Also are your spark plugs VOLVO ones? Although these things sound maybe rediculous to you after owning my own `98 V40 T4 they must have everything VOLVO to perform without a hitch, they are very fussy engines.

I know we are picking at minor things but who would think only a Volvo plug would not give problems? If you have to get to the cause of the problem, one has to cover all eventualities. I had one problem with my `98 T4 .....it would not idle smoothly, but when i turned on the AC it was fine.....whether it was the size of the standard injectors who know`s (they are meant to be too small for the power it gives so work on a higher working percentage rate).....but of course turning on the AC gave the engine a richer mixture to keep the idle revs at 750 and idles really well until it was turned off........i never found out the reason.

Ive also tried bosch super+ something plugs. They worked as well as the volvo ones but after a while they looked like the same as in this links first post.
http://www.x40fin.com/index.php?topic=7607.0 I dont think that the rear O2 sensor is behind the problem. After all the sensors dont make adjustments in open loop. |

I doubt you will get a response, he hasn't been on the forum for over 10 years.
