  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Default 2.4 Cambelt or chain?

Anyone know if my S40 2.4SE has a cam belt or chain?

If it is a five cylinder it has a belt. The same engine as the S60 and V70.

Agreed 2.4 has belt. The only 'new' s40/v50 engine that has a chain is the 1.8

My dealer told me that only the 1.6 petrol engine had a chain by contrast to the 1.8 and 2.0 engines having cambelts! I am confused.

1600 petrol has a belt 1800 and 2000 petrol have chains ....
