From memory Volvo only ever fitted 9.5mm belts. If you go onto other suppliers sites, most will list 10mm for our cars.
The last time I replaced mine I got 9.5's from FRF and they squealed like pigs, and began to shread. I looked at the old ones and they were 10's. I got a set of Dayco 10mm and so far all quiet again. I think the pulleys must have 'worn' so the 9.5's can't grip? Hth's

I would buy from a Volvo dealer. Especially as perhaps 10mm might strain the pulley so that Volvo belts won't work in future?

Hi Barry I too have a 1975 245 DL,
you need the 10mm x 925 belt for your car, Volvo list the size in the 1975 owners manual as HC38X925 which is like tyres a mix of metric and imperial measurements .38" is 9.65200mm to be exact Volvo list them as 9.5mm which is a good fit on a new pulley but as they wear to a polished finish over time 10mm X 925 is the best fit. Being 10 mm wont strain the pulley in any way being 1975 you don't have power steering or air conditioning so only need the one belt. we should meet to compare cars as there are only 2 on the road left according to www.howmanyleft.com that's yours and mine AndrewBrown |

That's interesting. When I had a 244 without power steering or air con, it had two belts. T reg if I remember correctly so that's different. |

Thanks for the private posting Andy. Just wrote a long reply and then found out it wouldn't let me post it as I haven't had enough posts or something like that. Let me have your email address and I'll we can exchange photos of the old girls. Thanks
