S40 steering wheels, interchangeable?

Hello, i have a 2001 S40 that has the 4 spoked steering wheel like this

Do these 3 spoked steering wheels fit?

as in are the splines the same on the column, and will the plug for the airbag be the same? thanks very much!

The spline is identical so yes they fit. Connectors for the airbag are the same too so I would assume it will be ok. Volvo introduced a 2-stage airbag at the later models, but I am not sure what applies to what. I have a 3-spoke steering wheel (no airbag though) in case you are interested and I am local to you (Upney)

thanks very much for that, big help. The 3 spoke is smaller steering wheel just to be sure? Thats the main reason i want to change it :-)

It's not smaller. As far as I know they are the same size. Will check later on today

The steering wheels are the same size, it was just the style that altered....

Just double checked the 3-spoke and 4-spoke steering wheels and they are identical in size
