Talking to a neighbour who is looking to purchase a V70 diesel. A question he asked was: Is it possible for a vendor to clear any Driver Information Message faults (when the faults havent been repaired) to then make it appear there's no problems with the vehicle on a test drive ?

Simply answer yes it is.
It all depends on the fault though. SRS Airbags faults would come on pretty quick if they was a problem. Auto gear box faults you can clear and could stay off for days even weeks before they come back on. You would need Volvo Vida Vidas Vct 2000 etc to clear some of the fault codes. Some can be done with a normal reader. Hope this helps.

Many Thanks. I did wonder, as I recall when viewing my D5 first time around the nearside H7 bulb didnt seem to be lit, but thought nothing of it. Lo & behold 24 hours after getting it home the DIM tells me it need replacing.
