97 2.0 V40 for spares/repairs £275
After my father's 01 D5 V70's engine ate itself i found him this as a replacement, i checked the previous mot history on the DVLA site and it showed wear and tear advisories and nothing bad so he got it. Unfortunately on the way to get a cam belt and water pump for replacement, the tensioner gave way, it was gonna be changed after that last drive which was really frustrating. Engine is believed to be now damaged and as he grabbed a 2l god awful 850 without my knowledge this is now of no use and will not be getting repaired by me or my father as it was a temporary car anyway.
We now have 3 cars on our drive that are for parts, the other 2 i will be breaking but this seems too nice for that, i would rather it went for what he paid for it than take it to bits. If the buyer wishes to break it that is up to them but seems a shame. He had just moted it so it has 11 months, it is now sorn. The bodywork seems pretty good but as to be expected of a car from 97 it isn't perfect but has no major dents or scrapes, it has a decent spec too. Electric windows and mirrors, trip computer, a/c (untested), leather seats, load liner, spoiler, front fog lights, alloys with a fair amount of tread - 2 falken tyres, 2 autogrip, wood trim, heated seats, working headlight wipers, cruise control - not sure if he ever tested it, roof rails, electric sunroof, towbar, boot liner, cd changer, 2 key fobs, back box replaced recently in my father's ownership. The suspension seems very low and i believe it may of been lowered, not sure if it was properly or springs cut but it handles much better than any car i've driven. Believe he has some paperwork but i'll have to ask him, not that it makes much difference on a car with a broken engine. The gearbox linkage was sloppy, when i drove it i would get 3rd fairly often instead of 5th but the rest of the gears i was ok with, just being honest for anyone potentially interested. Obviously it will need to be trailered away, not interested in any daft offers of £100 thanks i know its value in parts, collection from Crawley about 15 mins drive from Gatwick. Would need collecting by the 27th latest as we need it off the drive. If nobody takes it at £275 then fair enough I will have to dismantle it myself, i doubt it will with such short notice and needing to be trailered but i figured i would give it a go before it's condemned. Any questions, send me a pm and i'll try get back to you asap, cheers.
