S40 (New) General : S40 1.6D - Struggles to start, also cuts out

I've got a strange issue with my S40 1.6d drive, it recently had an issue where it refused to start, you could crank for however long you want and nothing. I then serviced it and replaced fuel filter etc and it seemed to fix the issue. But now it's slightly different, it will crank for a while and sometimes starts after 5-10 seconds of cranking but it sounds laboured, some times it will just crank and nothing happens and sometimes it will seem to start up fine and then just cut out on its down after a few seconds.
I've had Vida Dice on and there's no fault codes at all. Any idea what I can try looking for on Vida to work out what's wrong, or has anyone fixed the same problem before? I saw someone said Fuel Pressure Regulator on a post somewhere but someone also said the 1.6D doesn't have one

have you watched the fuel pressure via VIDA when cranking to see if it builds up quickly and meets specifications?
