I think the need for swede speed is great in me
Probably not worth the effort https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/archi.../t-121502.html

If you really want a V8 960, drop in a Toyota/Lexus 1UZ 4.0V8 and the A340 box from the same car but swap the extension housing from an AW70/1/2 to blank off the speedo drive if necessary - i think the Lexus used an eectronic speedo but driven from the output shaft in the box, rather than the ABS sensor in the diff as the 960 most likley has.

That guy has several videos and also produces a kit to drop the 1UZ into your Volvo but i think it's tailored for the 240 series. However bear in mind the very first 960s used the same B280E engine as i have in my 760, these were originally intended to be a V8 so have a 90 degree bank angle meaning most V8s will easily fit in the 7/9xx engine bay.

Will keep you busy over winter.........................

Bit of a pipe dream really I find my 55 year old self is talking to my 20 odd year old self and my younger is being a bad influence!

More likely I would grab an 850 t5 or an S80 if the speed daemon in me holds sway... in the meantime it's all wishful thinking

Yes, your younger self can get you into trouble easily!

On a recent dawdle through the fens I was surprised by how quickly I good reach and then fracture the speed limit... god knows what I would be like if I let my younger self loose on a twin turbo'd six or a v8!

I am so enjoying the 960 now my older self needs to ensure my younger self keeps the shiny side up

Well I think she's not bad at all for my daily driver and she certainly is pretty from 6 feet away.

She's not a concourse show car but for a 26 year old car not at all bad.

I particular like the screen sticker

I think she's run in by now

Took a nice run out today just over the boarder into Norfolk, weather was great and my big girl looked glorious in the sunshine.

I went to look at an 850 t5 Auto Saloon that was a real barnfind project... something I didn't know before going but hey it gave my goddess a chance to shine and really quelled my inner speed daemon.

We blasted those country lanes enjoyed the sun and made a tatty 850 t5 look sad sorry t5

I may take a run to Swavesey tomorrow to the meet since it's not far at all .. not sure I can manage all day there .. just depends how and what my bowl cancer buddy is doing to me on the day..

Anyhow hope to be there

Ben
