New Volvo car VOC discounts 2008? - Page 3

It is true that such affinity schemes are offered to other organisations, such as the IAM, but I think it is wrong to class it as cheap advertising. We were pleased when VCUK included us in this and since it started 31 cars have been bought by VOC members using it. That means 31 members have made a saving on a new Volvo car. That has to be good.

thanks for putting me straight, I just got a little confused when tickedon wrote "it wasn't for him". My sister-in-laws hubby is looking to buy an S60, could he join the VOC without having a Volvo then claim the discount later, or do you have to have a Volvo when you join the VOC ?

Even if he joins VOC just for the initial Discount (although he may decide later to continue membership..

Yea...) it is in and of itself, a good reason to join VOC..

I am not aware of any time restraint on membership for applying the VOC discount.. I am sure Bob can confirm..

Cheers Des, I think he (sister-in-laws hubby) said when he is on the on-line shop to purchase a years membership to the VOC it asks what model of Volvo do you own? If you leave it blank it throws an error up when trying to carry on to the next page...

The validity of this approach is possibly questionable, and I don't know what Bob's opinion would be..

im a paid up member and can't drive lol but it didn't ask me what model etc

Des, as it says here: http://www.volvoclub.org.uk/buying-a-new-volvo.shtml members must be a member for at least six months to be eligible for a discount offer on a new Volvo.
