V50 Remote???

Hi team...

I suspect this probably unique to me... things normally are!!!

2004 V50 - 175K... what a girl!

Yesterday the car didn't lock/unlock with first press of the key... it always did from an incredible distance away...!

Odd... tapped the key and tried again a few times - hey presto.

Took the key apart and teased the +/- contacts same result!!!

Changed the battery - same result!!!

After analysing - car locks / unlocks / sidelights activate on the THIRD press ONLY every time.

Sounds bonkers but I've tried it a dozen time - third time press activation only... I am going mad or has anyone else had this???

have you tried the Spare keyfob/remote does that do the same oddness

(if you dont have a spare,it could be an idea to get one before "oh" happens as that is a Very large bill to sort)

It's my only key - it's on my list to get spare cut / coded...

It'll probably be one of those I always INTENDED to do when thigs to t*ts up - aargghh!!!

It's urgent anyway but even more-so now... Anyone have any decent key merchants they recommended?

It's a fascinating fault though - THREE presses on the every function to activate.

Is it the key or the wireless receiver in the car?

i hear what your wallet is screaming BUT its a lot lot less than "OH"

the dealer will program the car to the key And if you ask nice remove All the "old not with the car keys"
security feature and a Very good one ,until your one and only key flops down a drain grate that is,, or gets left in a pocket and has a ride around the washing machine..
