Very pleasantly surprised. Chap called me this morning having entered my details in the wee small hours....renewal quote from esure was £391, everyone else gusting around the £380 mark with some as high as £550!

How does £295 including Class 1 business and a mere £150 excess sound, sir? says he! Still some ringing around to do, but an absolute bargain, imho!

Cheers

A-plan were going to get my business until Chris Knott insurance snuck in with a respectable £255 plus £15 guaranteed car hire (we had a bad smash in xc90 and insurers left us walking) Try them, they were the best for me

Thumbs up Thanks!

Thanks for the tip chaps - I'm waiting to hear from Adrian Flux and Sureterm, but despite their promises they haven't got back to me yet (2 days after they promised...).

Fingers crossed!

Tried A-plan today after seeing this thread - renewal from the Post Office was £223 TPFT - A-plan came in at £217 FULLY COMP ! - fantastic and really friendly and helpful - also advised that should the beloved Volvo ever be involved in an accident and be written off as an "uneconomical repair" then they would negotiate with the insurer to buy it back for you so that you can put it back together yourself - marvellous considering it would probably only take the front or rear bumper to be smashed on my 850 GLT for it to be considered too expensive to repair?
Great tip FIVE ALIVE - many thanks
Andy

I just used A Plan, they saved me £300 on my V70 and I got my bike insured FC for £3 more than my renewal for TPFT

Sadly, A-Plan weren't the best for me - I've just signed up with Adrian Flux. It looks like most insurers get the heeby geebies when I mentioned manual boost controller and uprated anti roll bars - they were all strangely ok with the other mods

So I've gone TPFT for the first time since I was in my 20s... and even that cost £320. I think the area I live in might have something to do with it too

Default Insurance quotes

Just out of interest, and not Volvo insurance. my wife's renewal quote for her Focus C-Max diesel came in from the AA a few days ago!!
Up by 0ver £70 from last year (We can't offer you the same policy as last year, but we have searched and this is the lowest offer you will be able to find!) £407.65!!

Tried confused.com, and they came in with £210.00! (I insure the 240 through confused, with a broker in Newmarket). This was the same broker.
Sorted all the insurance out, even thought I was a bit apprehansive about the halving of cost. When the details were finallised. came through as Highway Insurance , Brentford, Essex.... THE SAME COMPANY the AA wanted £407.65 for!!!!!

I had tried phoning the AA with all the lower quotes, but a very stroppy lady refused to even discuss, and said that they never drop their prices to try to match other quotes, and it must be a mickey mouse insurance company I was going with!
