VOLVO 850 SE - 1995 2ltr SALOON - PROJECT

I have for sale my much loved 1995 Volvo 850 saloon, petrol, 2ltr. A couple of months ago she developed an intermittent problem - stalling after the engine heats up and not restarting until the engine has cooled. It seems to stall on decelertion. I have tried unsuccessfully to resolve the problem and have reluctantly had to take it off the road and buy a replacement car, a S40. The car is presently registered on SORN. No MOT.

Up until this problem it had been running beautifully, there are 260,000+ miles on the clock and is a great, reliable, sturdy car. If this problem was fixed it would continue for many more years. It is aubergine in colour with grey cloth upholstery, There is rust to the 2 front wings, which are repairable, and obvious marks due to age, but nothing very serious. There is a towbar fitted as I used it to pull a trailer to collect wood for my wood burner.

I have the full service history going back to 1996. I have owned the car for 18 years and it has been regularly serviced by Volvo main dealers and Volvo independent garages. I am the 2nd owner the first owner was Volvo Leasing.

Tyres are in good condition - Pirelli 6000 cinturato. Last 2 fitted at 25300 miles.
New exhaust fitted at 253000 miles.
New battery fitted in Nov. 2014 with 5 yr warranty.
Cam and auxiliary belt replaced at 243679 miles.
New radiator fitted at 24500 miles.
New ABS sensors and module fitted at 24500 miles.
The above are just some of the major items that have been replaced recently.

I live in North Yorkshire, between Malton and Scarborough and would welcome any inspection. This would be a great project for an enthusiast who is able to sort out this intermittent problem.
