Default Gear Box cooling pipes

Hi All.

Just had some work done on my 1989 240 GLT Auto, whilst this was being done I have been told the pipe work between the Gear Box and Radiator for the cooling has been removed at some time. Any body got a set of pipes for the above type car. PM or email me with price and location.ronaldbudgen397@hotmail.com.

Thanks

budgie

that means your auto gearbox survived without additional cooling????

one poinjt of advise :

if you can get hold of an auxilliary oilcooler than that is the way to go.

Reason: your radiator has water cooling AND oilcooling lines in it.

When something goes wrong it goes terribly wrong.

You get water in the gearbox , so you can throw that one away.
at the same time you get oil in the water cooling system, so you have to rinse that out.

the auxilliary oilcooler has the advantage that the water and oil systemms are absolutely seperated.

I assume a 7 series oilcooler will do the job

Hi Brodgar.

Thanks for that info, yes it has been fine as it is but advised to get it the pipes replaced. Will consider your suggestion as is seems sensible to keep them seperate. Where would I be able to get one of these? Will keep you upto date.

Hi Brodgar.

Decided to try and keep my car as original as possible, managed to source a set of pipes and had them fitted. Will keep my fingers crossed for the future. Many thanks for you reply.
